Axe Cop's tragic childhood. NOTE: This episode is best read in order after episode 4

The Dogs is back!

Finally, we are back in business.  I know I said that would happen last tuesday, but I forgot last Tuesday was my birthday and I didn't realize my birthday fell on a tuesday until I had already celebrated it, so I apologize for the invonvenience.  I ask for your forgiveness as my birthday present.  I am probably going to be doing a commission soon because I just fried the motor in my car.  Could be a good early Christmas present.  So keep it in mind and I will post soon about it.  Thanks for reading!!

Returning Next Week!

Hello head Choppers,

Enjoy a new guest episode from Ray Friesen today of www.DontEatAnyBugs.com.

Also… next week, we're back!  Finally, the last three pages of THE DOGS will post weekly starting next tuesday.  Thanks for your patience.  If you have not gone to the comic shop to pick up Axe Cop: President of the World yet, please do!  Issue #1 was released at the end of last month and issue #2 ships out soon.  This series was a lot of fun.  If you liked Bad Guy Earth you will love this one.

See you next tuesday and thanks to Ray for the guest episode!

Bad Guy Portraits

Hey Head Choppers,

Well Comic Con is behind me and it was a good time as usual.  Thanks to everything who stopped by the booth and came to the panel.  My hiatus continues as I work on the over-due President of the World #3, but in the meantime Jeff Beckman, creator of the webcomic Ultiman was kind enough to send along a guest episode.  My hope is to finish this project in the next 20 days or so, then get back here and finish up the DOGS.  After that, I hope to focus more on Bearmageddon for a while, but also on doing more Ask Axe Cop episodes.  Malachai and I want to try to make it to 100 episodes of Ask Axe Cop.  I have plenty to keep me busy… thanks for being such a supportive audience.

The Hold Up

Dear patient fans and followers of Axe Cop and Bearmageddon.  You have probably noticed a sever lack of updates in the recent past.  A number of things in my life have been holding me up, namely the Axe Cop TV show, which put everything else I was working on off the table for 3 weeks.  The show is still in production and it will still take up a lot of my time, and I am way behind on the “President of the World” art.  With all this, I've had changes in my life, travel and other things like San Diego Comic Con on the horizon that have set me back quite a bit.  Believe it or not, in all the busyness I am not paying the bills very well either, so I have had to prioritize work that pays.  So to make a long story short, I have decided that for now I am going to have to put the Axe Cop web comic, and Bearmageddon on hold.  These projects, especially Bearmageddon, do not pay well.  I need to finish the print series I have a contract to complete with Dark Horse, and I need the time to put into the TV show when I am needed for it.  I don't know how long this hold will be… I am hoping just a month.  I hope it is not TOO long.  The main thing I need to get out of the way is this print series.  Once that is done I may be able to get back to the web updates depending on how demanding the TV show is at the time.

I do need to address those who ordered “Bearicatures” (those who paid to be background characters in Bearmageddon)… I understand your frustration at the hold up with the comic.  I promise you will still be in the comic, but if you feel you have been mislead and are upset please email me and let's talk about how we can square up.  Bearmageddon will be completed, in fact one project I want to look into after getting President of the World done is either a Bearmageddon kickstarter or finding a publisher for it so that it is more worth my time financially.

Whatever happens, I thank you for being a regular here at the site.  I love posting new content and I want to keep at it.  Malachai, who I just spent time with at our brother's wedding, is not running out of ideas, and Bearmageddon has only gotten started.  If you would like to submit any guest comics for either of my web comics in the down time, please feel free to email them to info@axecop.com or info@bearmageddon.com.

If you will be at San Diego Comic Con, come by and see me at booth #2306.  I have my own booth this year and will be selling books, prints, commissions and more.  Also, come check out the Axe Cop panel in room 6DE on Sunday at 3pm.

Delayed Episode!

Sorry head choppers, today's episode never posted because I never drew it!  I have been working on the Axe Cop TV show and generally gettng behind in everything I am trying to accomplish in life.  I'm not sure if I will be able to do a new episode by next week… probably not.  But hopefully soon after we can finish this story since it is so close to completion.  Thanks for your patience.  It will be worth it, I have been spending all day this week and last week working with writers on turning the Axe Cop stories into TV epsiodes.  We have called Malachai numerous times to get his input meaning you will get new scenes and sequences that were never in the comics.  It's a really fun and exciting process.

Tomorrow is the last day you can order these prints from me online, so if you won't be at SDCC you should go order one up!

Secrets

Another week, another page!  The writing process on the TV show has gotten started and so far I have been able to be very involved.  It's fun to sit in a room with a bunch of writers trying to figure out how to arrange the madness of Axe Cop into an episode for TV… talking about snow planets, avocado soldiers and uni-babies like they are serious plot points.  It's actually a lot of fun and the old Axe Cop comics still crack me up.  I even called Malachai yesterday to get some input from him on material for the show.  I'll be getting pretty busy with the show soon, so I guess we will just have to see how well I can juggle two web comics and this show.  Either way, the Axe will keep chopping!  Thanks for reading!

From Hell

Yes things have gone to Hell.   Axe Cop remains unpredictable and Kailey continues to rock the colors!

In case you missed it, there is one day left to bid on the chance to be in the new Axe Cop miniseries.  If you win, you might get to be a super hero, a bystander, a zombie from hell… whatever it is you will be part of Axe Cop history and you will be helping out an artist whose car battery just died.  Life!

I've also posted another Axe Cop piece for auction!

I'm excited because the first writer's room meeting for the Axe Cop TV series is this week.  I really can't say anything else, in fact maybe I wasn't supposed to say that, but there it is!  It will be interesting converting all the existing material into a show.  Everyone involved LOVES to comic and I'm interested to see how it all goes down.  this is my first writer's room experience.

This story will probably end in another 3-5 pages.  From there things could get even more sparse here online as the show makes me more busy, but we will see what I can handle. I want to tackle some more Ask Axe Cops.  My goal is to at least do 100 of them total.  I need to get back on the phone with Malachai!

Want to be in Axe Cop?

I did this with Bearmageddon and it worked out pretty well, so i am going to try it with Axe Cop.  I am going to make it possible to buy a spot as an “extra” in the new Axe Cop miniseries coming in July from Dark Horse Comics.  I may sell a few of these depending on how they do.  There is not as much space for extras in Axe Cop as there is in Bearmageddon.  So I am doing it using bidding.  Best placement will be based on order of winners, so if you win this one you get the best.  Good luck, and thanks in advance if you bid!

Poison Flower Man

I'm not sure if Poison Flower Man will be a big character in the Axe Cop universe, but there he is.  Also, Cyborg Monkey 181510120 is just an obnoxious name.

I'm auctioning another piece on eBay here

Thanks to everyone who is bidding on these.  My income can be sporadic and unpredictable so posting art and selling it is a good way to get money coming in on a more regular basis.  If you would like to commission a piece, let me know how much you want to spend and what you are looking for and maybe we can work something out.  Email me using the CONTACT page on this site.

Scott Kurtz guest episode!

My pal Scott Kurtz over at PVP returned the favor after I did a week of guest strips for him featuring Axe Cop and LOLbat.  He decided to do this episode in the more traditional web comic genre, brooding/autobiographical.  That was a joke, this made me laugh.  Please visit PVP, I'm honored to have one of the web's great cartoonists do an Axe Cop episode.

Also, in another attempt to make a little money on the side I've posted another original piece on eBay.  Hey, Axe Cop is getting a TV show so perhaps this will be a good investment.  Spend all your kids' colege money on it:

Also, I did a little interview over at the Daily BLAM! about the coming FOX series.  I don't know a whole lot right now, and am sworn to secrecy on a lot of other stuff, but I gave my best first exclusive interview on the topic to the always faithful Keven Skinner.

Alright… hopefully next week we get on with this DOGS story.  I remain way too behind.
